[TB 0023] New Release! Nevada Hardware "Split Scene" album
Nevada Hardware, the Chicago-based electronic music project of producer Doug Jones, will release Split Scene on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, via Thinkbreak Records. Split Scene brings a more confrontational and aggressive sound, blending subversive sampling and distorted guitars into the breakbeat-laden, hook-heavy anthems which made the debut album a cult favorite. The new release marks a natural progression and reflects the current state of the world. “This album is an unconscious reaction to the environment in which it was written,” Jones explains. “Watching society disintegrate through a computer screen over the past few years shaped what came out. When writing, I unconsciously metabolized the hyper-mediated atomization and violence of our current dystopia, but I didn’t want the album to ruin your weekend either, so it’s still fun. Things are bleak enough as it is."
The project’s 2018 debut No Future made waves in the industrial underground music scene, gaining attention for its high-energy live shows featuring live sequenced video collaboration with multimedia artist and labelmate, royb0t. The album's success, coupled with remixes for notable artists Klack and Go Fight, earned Nevada Hardware a slot at the Cold Waves XII Chicago official after-party, where much of the new material was debuted and subsequently melted faces.
Split Scene will be available on all major streaming services, with a pay-what-you-want option on Bandcamp, and a limited run of physical CDs on April 23rd.
